The Swedish Energy Agency is active in international climate negotiations

The Swedish Energy Agency contributes expertise to the Swedish delegation for negotiations within the framework of the UN Climate Convention and the Kyoto Protocol, foremost in questions related to the flexible mechanisms, financing, technology transfer, sinks (absorption of greenhouse gases by soil and forest), adaptation plus technical issues concerning registries and the like.

The Swedish Energy Agency's Climate Unit also participate in the expert groups within the EU which report to the advisory group (WPIE) who leads work on climate change negotiations. The Swedish delegation is led by the Ministry of the Environment though other government departments and authorities also participate.
