Compliance

On the 15th of May each year, every EU Member State must, in accordance with the Registry Regulation, publish information on how its operators have fulfilled their compliance, i.e. if the number of surrendered allowances equals or exceeds the number of verified emissions. Via the document on the right you can review this information. It shows the emission compliance of every Swedish installation during the first commitment period, 2008-2012. For data on previous years, the information can be found on the website of the CITL.

Operators which have not surrendered the correct amount of allowances are subjects to a fine with a fee based on the difference between the verified emissions and the actual number of allowances surrendered. This fine is charged by Naturvårdsverket, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.

Every account which does not have a verified emission figure set in SUS, the Swedish Emission trading registry, have all its outgoing transactions blocked from March 31th until the figure has been reported
