Swedish cleantech on international markets

International agreements and promotion of Swedish energy technology and cleantech solutions are an important parts of the Agency's work.

The Agency is one of the biggest funders of research, development and demonstration in the Swedish energy sector. The Agency has a governmental assignment both to promote Swedish competence and technology within the energy sector to other countries and to gather experiences from international networking. The goal is to contribute to a sustainable development.

Promoting Swedish knowhow

The assignment also consists of developing and promoting Swedish companies and helping them to establish business abroad. The Agency arranges different market communication activities and delegations abroad where Swedish companies are invited to participate. This is done in close co-operation with other Swedish agencies and institutions, for example the Swedish Trade Council and the Swedish Embassies.

The Agency also supports business development and commercialisation.

Bilateral agreements

The Government of Sweden has signed bilateral agreements with several countries, e.g. USA, India, Brazil, Ukraine and China. The objective is to strengthen the co-operation and networking, as well as to help to increase the trade between the countries. In the long run the agreement will also influence the national strategy for R&D, since international co-operation will be more integrated in the national research and development chain and at an earlier stage. The agreements will also lead to better methods for positioning Swedish competence and business ideas on international markets.
