New publication: The Swedish CDM and JI Programme
The Swedish Government’s CDM and JI programme is managed by the Swedish Energy Agency. The programme supports projects by purchasing emission reductions, which have been generated according to the rules of the Kyoto Protocol’s project based mechanisms.
The programme is presently directly involved in CDM projects in Rwanda, Malaysia, Brazil, India, China and Vietnam and JI projects in Romania and Estonia.
In addition to this, by active participation in a number of CDM- and JI-funds, the Swedish Energy Agency is involved in many more CDM- and JI-projects in a wider range of countries.
The programme’s objectives are to:
- contribute to the development of the fexible mechanisms,
- contribute to cost-effective greenhouse gas reductions
- and contribute to sustainable development in the host countries of the projects.
