This project aims at demonstrating bus stop charging by using inductive power transfer, i.e. electricity transmitted without cables or wires. The actual technology with inductive transmission of electricity has long been known. A pedagogical example is e.g. electric toothbrushes The demonstrator is planned to be built in Södertälje and it will include a static charging station where the wireless transmission of electricity can be demonstrated and studied. Within the framework of the demonstrator, three city buses with EU6 combustion engine will be electrified with a hybrid powertrain from Scania. The main aim of the demonstrator is to evaluate the technology in actual operation for a long time. The analysis will also provide answers how a combination of strategically placed charging stations connected to the bus stop should be organized and what effect this gives the opportunity to reduce battery sizes aboard the electrified buses.
