Cleanergy AB
Cleanergy produces stirling engines that are used first and foremost within the power industry. The engines are operated by natural gas or solar heating.
Cleanergy AB was established in 2008 by a number of Swedish investors with many years of experience in both industrial businesses as well as entrepreneurship. In 2008 the company carried out the acquisition of production equipment, stock-in-trade, spare parts and a comprehensive patent portfolio as well as other intangible assets for a stirling engine.
The company's own comparisons show differences between the gas-powered engine (9 kW) and statistics for convereted Otto engines (15 kW) and converted diesel engines (20 kW). Based on the comparisons, the company sees a significantly lower need for service for Cleanergy's engine. The service cost was estimated to be approx. 30 % in comparison with the Otto engine and approx. 33 % in comparison with the diesel engine. The cost of the energy delivered during a 10-year period is estimated by the company to be approx. 64 % in comparison with the Otto engine and approx. 82 % in comparison with the diesel engine.
Cleanergy's stirling engine has an efficiency of between 22-30 % as well as high operating reliability that was demonstrated in test conditions during more than 24,000 hours for an individual engine. The tests show an availability that amounts to 95 %.
