Innovations, research and development

The Swedish Energy Agency supports research and development about the supply, conversion, distribution and use of energy. Assistance is also provided to development of new technologies.

The Agency is involved in broader international energy research cooperations, which among other things, is about the increased use of renewable energy sources and development of new technologies and systems for energy supply.

The Swedish Energy Agency also provides practical assistance and, in some cases, support for the applications to the various energy programmes in EU.

The Swedish Energy Agency invests in programmes that will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by at least four million tons, by distributing more than half a million cookstoves in African countries.

Strong interest in the Swedish Energy Agency's Call for CDM Proposals

The Swedish Energy Agency's call for CDM proposals received over 350 proposals from more than 50 countries, corresponding to a total volume of roughly 160 million tons of Certified Emission Reductions (CERs).
