GHG emissions for biofuels summarised

Economic operators with a reporting obligation due to Act (2010:598) concerning sustainability criteria for biofuels and bioliquids now have a data compilation to assist them when performing GHG-calculations and establishing use of disaggregated default values for cultivation for specific regions in EU (so called NUTS regions).

The EU member states have performed calculations of typical greenhouse gas emissions from the cultivation of raw materials at the regional level pursuant of Article 19(2) of the Renewable Energy Directive. The results are presented in separate reports. The Swedish Energy Agency has summarised the results from the reports with the objective of offering stakeholders the possibility to compare greenhouse gas emissions, and whether or not disaggregated default values may be used for specific regions.
