Flexible mechanisms for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing the world. The task at hand - reversing the trend of increasing global greenhouse gas emissions will require rigorous measures from all the countries of the world.
The Kyoto Protocol introduced three market-based flexible mechanisms, Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), Joint Implementation (JI) and Emission Trading (ET), as an additional means of meeting the targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. On this site you can read more about Sweden’s and the Swedish Energy Agency’s work to develop the flexible mechanisms and efforts on climate change.
