Fees
The opening of trading accounts in the Union Registry are subject to fees.
Application and Annual fee
The opening of trading accounts in the EU Emissions Trading System normally involves both an application fee and an annual fee. As the authority’s regulations are currently being updated, no application fee will be charged when opening new accounts.
The regulations are expected to be published around 1 June, at which point the application fee will be reinstated for account openings. The application fee must be paid within 14 days from the date the application is received by the Swedish Energy Agency.
Trading accounts are also subject to an annual fee, which must be paid in advance no later than 31 December. For accounts liable for the annual fee, the Swedish Energy Agency issues an invoice each year.
Both fees will be increased in connection with the update of the regulations.
