Guidance for operators and other actors in emissions trading
These pages are intended for operators covered by the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) and other actors who want guidance on trading emissions allowances.
Trading emissions allowances in the EU ETS is not limited to operators who are obliged to participate in the system, but also other entities as companies, organisations and private individuals can buy and sell emissions allowances.
All operators covered by the EU ETS must have an account in the Union Registry. Entities who intend to trade allowances also need an account in the Union Registry.
