EU Login

The EU Login e-service is used when logging in and approving transactions in the Union Registry.

EU Login is a service that the European Commission uses to authenticate users in, among other things, the Union Registry. When you visit the Union Registry via your browser, you are redirected to the EU Login page. There, you log in with your email & password and enter the EU Login Mobile App QR Code as the authentication method. A QR code is then generated in the browser, and you use the mobile app to scan the QR code. Once this is done, an 8-digit code is generated in the mobile app that you enter into the browser window. The app can be used offline.

How to get started with the EU Login mobile app

The app requires that you use a lock function on your mobile device (PIN code, pattern, or fingerprint). The app also needs permission to send notifications and to have access to the camera.

Login problems

There are many types of login problems. We have collected some tips that can solve a lot of problems:

  • Make sure you use the correct link/entrance to the Union Registry when logging in:
    EU Registry (europa.eu)
  • Do not create a new user if you have problems logging in. If you create multiple users, they may conflict with each other and make troubleshooting more difficult.
  • Try logging in using a different browser.
  • Clear browser history and cookies on your computer.

Log in to EU login and check that you have a mobile phone associated to your user, you do this under My account and further under My account details. You can log in with a password.

Reinstallation of app and change of phone

If you reinstall the app or change your phone, you will need to re-register in the app. You do this by logging in to your EU Login account using the authentication method password or QR code. There you can remove old mobile devices and complete the registration of your new device. It is easier to make the change in EU Login if you still have your old mobile device and can log in to EU Login with it.

EU Login (europa.eu)

When you then try to log in to the Union Registry, you will receive a message stating that your device does not match the one previously registered. Click Change device. A task will then be sent to our national administrators for approval. Once we have approved the task, you will receive an automated email stating that it is complete, and you can then log in.

Please note that you are required to have a screen lock (e.g. PIN, pattern, fingerprint) activated on your phone to successfully complete the device registration.
