Open an Operator holding account
Here you will find information on how to apply for an Operator holding account.
Operators covered by the Act (2020:1173) on certain greenhouse gas emissions and thus required to report emissions andpossibly surrender emission allowances need to open an Operator holding account in the Union Registry. The account is free of charge.
Please note!
The two steps, (1) registering in the Union Registry and (2) submitting an application to the Agency, must be completed before the application can be processed. If additional information is needed, the applicant will be notified via email.
To open an Operator holding account in the registry, you as an operator must have a valid permit to emit greenhouse gases. The permits are issued by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, to which operators must apply to for a permit.
Once you have received a permit from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, you apply to open an Operator holding account for stationary installations at the Swedish Energy Agency. The operator is responsible for applying for an account in the Union Registry.
