Open a Maritime operator holding account

Here you will find information on how to apply for a Maritime operator holding account.

Operators covered by the Act (2020:1173) on certain greenhouse gas emissions and thus required to report emissions and possibly surrender emission allowances need to open a Maritime operator account in the Union Registry.

The operator is responsible for applying for an account in the Union Registry. Maritime operators registered in Sweden or with Sweden as the administering Member State must open an account in the Swedish part of the Union Registry. The account is free of charge.

Updating the list of ships

The list of ships must be submitted by the shipowner if they are responsible for the operation of the ship. The list must include all ships for which the shipowner is responsible, as well as the IMO identification numbers of the ships.

If the list of ships is amended, the shipowner must submit an updated list within 20 working days. Information must also be provided regarding the new shipping company’s name and the IMO identification number for all ships no longer under the responsibility of the shipowner.

Form: update of shipping operator information (pdf)

Submit the form together with a new updated vessel list. Read more about information for shipping companies at the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.
