Energy Outlook 2011 – New Nordic Energy Conference
In March 2011, the Swedish Energy Agency's new conference, Nordic Energy Outlook, will take place in Gothenburg. Attendees will come from the energy authorities of the Nordic countries as well as from industry stakeholders, research institutes and other participants from the Nordic countries and gather together in one of Northern Europe's largest energy conferences.
Energy and climate issues do not stop at national borders. Hence the Swedish Energy Agency is now starting a new annual conference with both national and international efforts. The conference will be oriented towards companies, authorities, research institutes and interest groups in the energy industry as well as towards researchers and students at universities and university colleges.
"A sustainable energy system is an international affair and with Nordic Energy Outlook 2011 we wish to facilitate exchanges of experiences among the participants and co-operation across the national boundaries," says Anna Fridén, head of the Communication unit at the Swedish Energy Agency.
In connection with the conference, companies and organisations have the possibility to present themselves as exhibitors at the energy trade fair. The Nordic Energy Outlook 2011 Conference will offer a sneak preview already on 15 March at 1:00 pm with an energy exhibition. On the following day, the conference itself will start with a large introductory session, which will then transition into an exciting programme with a number of lectures.
"During the conference, seminars and lectures will be held under five different themes that will jointly span a broad range of the issues that are central for the energy system in the different countries," says Anna Fridén.
This year's themes are:
- Global trendsEnergy of the future
- Energy and the market
- Technology for growth
- Efficient energy users
About Nordic Energy Outlook 2011:
Nordic Energy Outlook will be a new meeting place for participants in the energy industry with an emphasis on sustainable energy systems where financing, environment and safety are highlighted both nationally as well as internationally. Nordic Energy Outlook is being arranged by the Swedish Energy Agency on 15-17 March 2011 at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre in Gothenburg.
The Swedish Energy Agency previously arranged the annual conference entitled Swedish National Energy Convention (also called the Energy Parliament) with administrative support from Konferensforum AB, a consulting company. The Swedish Energy Agency concluded its contract with Konferensforum in 2009. Konferensforum AB has chosen to continue to arrange a conference under the name of the Swedish National Energy Convention in Stockholm, without the participation of the Swedish Energy Agency.
