Other CCS funding options
The Swedish Energy Agency is Sweden's largest governmental funder of energy research. In addition to the state aid for BECCS through a reverse auction, the Swedish Energy Agency also offers financial support to CCS projects within other initiatives.
The Industrial Leap
At the Swedish Energy Agency, CCS projects can also receive support through the Green Industry Leap. The Green Industry Leap is an initiative to support the industrial sector on its path to reduce process-related greenhouse gas emissions, which is in line with the Swedish climate targets of net zero emissions by 2045. Support can be given to research, feasibility studies, pilot and demonstration projects, as well as general investments.

The EU Innovation Fund
The EU Innovation Fund is one of the world’s largest funding programmes for demonstration of innovative low-carbon technologies. The fund aims to support projects that demonstrate highly innovative technologies, processes or products, which are sufficiently mature, and which have a significant potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Clean Energy Transition Partnership
The Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETP) is a multilateral and strategic partnership of national and regional research, development and innovation programmes in European Member States and Associated Countries aiming to boost and accelerate the energy transition and to support the implementation of the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan). The CETP has established the seven thematic areas, so called Transition Initiatives (TRIs). In TRI 3, stakeholders can apply for support for ‘’Enabling Climate Neutrality with Storage Technologies, Renewable Fuels and CCU/CCS’’.
