Global call for proposals for Article 6 mitigation activities
The Swedish Energy Agency is looking for implementable mitigation activities to pursue under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Therefore, a call for proposals is launched today and open until February 14th, 2020.
The Swedish Energy Agency works on behalf of the Swedish government to develop new international climate cooperation through the acquisition of emission reduction units within the framework of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. International cooperation under a well-functioning Article 6 could dramatically reduce the cost of reaching national climate goals, thus enabling countries to increase their ambition. The SEA aims to build a portfolio of Article 6 activities to acquire emissions reductions that also help host countries reach their NDCs and contribute to sustainable development.
Up to 5 activities will be chosen for further development. Selected proposals will receive funding for continued development of more detailed design documentation as well as host country engagement and technical assistance as required.
