The Swedish Energy Agency expands its international Article 6 cooperation under the Paris Agreement

As the rules of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement are being negotiated during the international climate summit COP26 in Glasgow, the Swedish Energy Agency expands its Article 6 cooperation with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). The expanded cooperation will strengthen Sweden’s efforts to support the reduction of global emissions in compliance with the Paris Agreement.

A cooperation agreement has been signed between the Swedish Energy Agency and GGGI to expand the existing partnership with the aim to support the development of Article 6 activities in two additional host countries.

“We are happy to see the progress made in the host countries during the current partnership with GGGI. The expansion of this partnership is an important step to strengthen our international cooperation on climate action to achieve the Paris Agreement goals”, says Sandra Lindström, Head of International Climate Cooperation at the Swedish Energy Agency.
