New York is looking for Swedish solutions in heating and cooling

Swedish heating and cooling technology can help property owners in New York. Swedish companies can now apply for the $10 million Empire Technology Prize and contribute to New York's climate transition.

The Swedish Energy Agency has worked actively in the New York market since 2022 to promote Swedish energy efficiency solutions that can be implemented quickly. We also work to spread knowledge from Sweden about larger systemsolutions such as district heating, heatpumps and geothermal energy. Swedish solutions have great credibility, and Swedish companies have experience that is in demand on the market.

Based on this, and strong Swedish experience in heating and cooling, the Swedish Energy Agency has been invited to become an Outreach Partner for the Empire Technology Prize (ETP) in New York.

Empire Technology Prize

The Empire Technology Prize (ETP) is a technology challenge in which the state of New York and its real estate sector jointly seek solutions that can help solve the state's heating and cooling challenges at scale. The prize is administered by the organisation Clean Fight and the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI). Total funding for the challenge is $10 million.
