Heating your home

You can do a great deal to reduce the waste of heat in your home.

You can insulate your house better or you can heat it in a new way. The heating system that is best for your particular house depends on several different factors. How has the house been built? When was it built? Has the house been modernised or is it in poor condition? Where in the country do you live? How much heat do you need?

On these pages you can read about various systems for heating houses. All systems have advantages and disadvantages.

Keep the heat in

The house needs good insulation, i.e. walls, roof, floors and windows, to allow the heat to stay inside the house. You can read more about insulation, windows and doors under the link "Other energy consumption in the home".
