Smart City Sweden will host an event on sustainable construction for the cities of the future on November 2-3 at Expo 2020 in Dubai. It is possible to participate both physically and digitally. Welcome to the Swedish Pavilion!

Finally, it is clear which 23 cities, together with Viable Cities and four authorities, are rallying for climate-neutral and sustainable cities.

This webbinar will present the report ” The Nordic Battery Value Proposition” -a commission to Business Sweden by the Swedish Energy Agency.

The Swedish Energy Agency grants the chemical group Perstorp just under SEK 295 million.  The chemical group Perstorp will, in cooperation with Fortum and Uniper, invest in a plant to produce climate-neutral methanol. The goal is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions across the entire value chain by approximately 500,000 tonnes per year. This project is part of the Industrial Leap programme, which supports the industry's transition to net zero emissions.

Sweden aims to become a fossil-free welfare nation by 2045. This call for proposals provides aid to projects which, based on sustainable biobased raw materials, have the potential to contribute to solving the energy and climate challenges that Sweden faces as part of meeting this goal. This means that the projects must be relevant to the future energy system, while at the same time contributing to solving the climate challenges.

If you research within recycling of batteries or within batteries for stationary or vehicle applications, you are welcome to apply for support in the eight call for Batterifondsprogrammet.

In this call we welcome project proposals that can increase our understanding of potential possibilities, risks and conflicts of interests associated with the transitioning into sustainable energy systems for all. The call is therefore primarily aimed at researchers working with perspectives and methods based in e.g. social sciences, humanities and interdisciplinary research. Proposals should be submitted by December 3, 2020, 23.59 at the latest.

Long-term and meaningful investment by the Swedish Energy Agency has developed the entire value chain for biofuels and demonstrates the profitability of using branches and tops (In Swedish: grot) as fuel, as shown by a major evaluation conducted in 2019.

Northvolt has its sights on becoming a world leader in sustainably produced batteries with low emissions. The Swedish Energy Agency’s support has been important for allowing Northvolt to become quickly established, which has facilitated the recruitment of key competencies in battery production, among other things.

The solution to the climate challenge and the increased need for energy are putting pressure on all of the countries and companies around the world. Most parties are in agreement that increasing the share of renewable energy and using existing energy more efficiently are the way forward. Climeon’s innovation is an important piece in the jigsaw puzzle that can make a contribution in the transition.
