The Joint Data Project (GDP)
The Swedish Energy Agency, in collaboration with Formas, Forte, the Swedish Research Council and Vinnova, has developed a common standard for sharing research and innovation funding data.
The aim is to provide an up-to-date, comparable and consolidated overview of how different funding bodies support research and innovation in Sweden.
Currently, the Swedish Energy Agency provides research funding data in JSON format, structured in accordance with the GDP standard.
The information model
Within the data standard, calls for proposals, applications and funded activities form the three core elements of the funding processes of the participating agencies.
The terms funding and funded activity are used to cover both grants and other forms of support. This makes it possible for data users to obtain a comprehensive and comparable picture of the research and innovation activities financed through different calls.
A detailed description of the data model and its concepts is available on GitHub (github.com)

Implementation of the data model
The data covers activities funded by the government appropriation for energy research, where the calls for proposals opened after 31 December 2009.
Projects within the government initiative Industriklivet are not included in the dataset, as they are funded outsidethe government appropriation for energy research.
An Excel file containing approved projects within Industriklivet is available separately
Scope of data sharing
The Swedish Energy Agency shares data for most parts of the information model. However, some information is not yet available for sharing.
