Investment in climate-neutral methanol production at Perstorp is supported by the Swedish Energy AgencyThe Swedish Energy Agency grants the chemical group Perstorp just under SEK 295 million. The chemical group Perstorp will, in cooperation with Fortum and Uniper, invest in a plant to produce climate-neutral methanol. The goal is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions across the entire value chain by approximately 500,000 tonnes per year. This project is part of the Industrial Leap programme, which supports the industry's transition to net zero emissions.

This call for proposals provides aid to projects which, based on sustainable biobased raw materials, have the potential to contribute to solving the energy and climate challenges that Sweden faces as part of meeting this goal. This means that the projects must be relevant to the future energy system, while at the same time contributing to solving the climate challenges.

Third call: Humans, Energy systems and SocietyIn this call we welcome project proposals that can increase our understanding of potential possibilities, risks and conflicts of interests associated with the transitioning into sustainable energy systems for all. The call is therefore primarily aimed at researchers working with perspectives and methods based in e.g. social sciences, humanities and interdisciplinary research. Proposals should be submitted by December 3, 2020, 23.59 at the latest.
