Less than one percent of Ghana's electricity production comes from solar energy. Sweden is about to finance a project that increases that share - and helps accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy system.

In connection with Stockholm +50 – an international meeting on the environment convened by the UN General Assembly – Sweden signed Memorandums of Understanding with Nepal and the Dominican Republic. The agreements lay the groundwork for climate cooperation between the countries under the terms of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

The climate negotiations at COP25 in Madrid, which ended on December 15, did not lead to any decisions regarding the rule book for Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. The Swedish Energy Agency believes that the lack of outcome further emphasizes the need for positive examples of how international climate cooperation can be created under the Paris Agreement. The agency prepares for 2020 by launching and supporting a number of new initiatives, in order to support concrete cooperation under Article 6.

The Swedish Energy Agency has granted Bzzt AB SEK 7.5 million for the development of the company's operation, technology and software. The project aims to further develop the company's mobility system and make it ready for profitable, international expansion.

We're proud to announce three winners in the global innovation competition Sustainable Mobility Challenge. The aim of the competition has been to find sustainable services for everyday travel that are attractive enough to reduce the need to own a private car. The winners, from three different countries, all represent solutions that can contribute to advance development in Sweden.

Some 20 energy innovations that will have a great impact on the sustainable energy system will be presented in a pitch session on Thursday April 4 at the world largest industrial fair – Hannover Messe. The Swedish Minister for Energy and digitalization, Anders Ygeman, will kick-off the session showcasing some of Sweden’s cleantech companies at the forefront.

During one week, April 1 to 5, Sweden will showcase green technology at the forefront. A total of 22 Swedish companies will showcase their energy innovations in the Energy Pavilion in Hall 12; B49, at the world's largest industrial fair - the Hannover Fair.

The results of what companies have registered for Start Up Energy Transition (SET 100) are here. It speaks its clear language; Swedish energy innovations are at the forefront and is a force to be reckoned with. Sweden has 24 companies registered and has by far the highest number of applications per capita compared to the other countries.

Sweden has long been known as a pioneering country when it comes to environmental technology and sustainable innovations. Now more and more Swedish investors want to ride the green wave. They will soon be able to, when the Cleantech Forum conference is held at the Munich brewery in Stockholm on May 21-23.
