EU Login is an authentication service used to access the Union Registry and verifying transactions therein. From 2021, EU Login is available as a mobile app and replaces the previous method with SMS verification.
As a user in the Union Registry, you are required to use the mobile app called EU Login. The app is available for download to most mobile devices and requires that you have a so-called EU Login account to connect the app to. If you are already a user in the registry, you already have an EU Login account.
After registration in the app is completed, you can also use it offline.
In the grey boxes below, you will find guides and you can also read about how to get started with the app.

How to get started with the EU Login mobile app
To start using the EU Login mobile app, you need a mobile phone with a camera and access to the Apple Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android).
The app requires you to use a screen lock function on your mobile device (PIN, pattern, fingerprint, face ID, etc). The app also needs permission to send notifications and to use the camera. When you launch the app for the first time, the app will request these permissions.
When logging in to the Union Registry, select the authentication method “EU Login Mobile App QR Code”.

Login problems
If you have problems logging in, you can contact us at utslappshandel(at)energimyndigheten.se
Do not create a new user in case of login problems. If you create several users, these can end up in conflict with each other and make troubleshooting difficult.
In contact with us:
Describe your problem and the steps you took before you got there.
Specify if you have recently changed your mobile device, e-mail address, telephone number or may have other devices, e-mail addresses or telephone numbers linked to your user.
Feel free to attach screenshots of what it looks like when you try to log in / any error messages.

Reinstalling or replacing your phone
If you reinstall the app or change phone, you need to redo the registration in the app. You do this by logging in to your EU Login account with the authentication method mobile phone + SMS. There you can delete old mobile devices and complete the registration of your new device.
When you then log in to the Union Registry, you will receive a message stating that your device does not match the one previously registered. Press Change device. A task is then sent to the National Administrator for approval. Once the task has been approved, you will receive an automated e-mail that it has been done. You can then log in.

What happens to the possibility of SMS login?
After your first login with the EU Login app, the possibility of SMS login will cease for your user. The ability to sign transactions and processes using SMS also ceases. In January 2022, the possibility to log in with SMS will end. It is therefore important that you switch to the app in time.

About EU Login
EU Login is a service that the European Commission uses to verify the identity of users when accessing European Commission web services, among them is the Union Registry. From January 2022, all users in the Union Registry are required to use the EU Login mobile app.
When visiting the Union Registry website through your web browser, you will be redirected to the EU Login page. There, you will need to login with your e-mail and password. You must then select EU Login Mobile App QR Code as authentication method. A QR will be generated in your browser which you must scan using the EU Login mobile app. An 8-digit code will be generated in your mobile app that you enter in the corresponding data field in your browser.
