Projektsammanfattning:
Sweden is today relying 100% on ammonia and fertilizer imports, all high-carbon and with strong Russian dependency. Power2Earth has the ambition to strengthen Sweden’s climate performance and self-sufficiency by developing:
1Hydrogen plant based on electrolysis technology, using water and air as raw materials and powered by renewable energy.
2Pipeline for the transportation of green hydrogen from the hydrogen plant.
3First of a kind emission-free low-carbon ammonia plant supplied by green hydrogen, with an annual capacity of 1,000,000 tons.
4Fertilizer plant using green ammonia to produce low-carbon fertilizers for sustainable and competitive agriculture. Power2Earth aims to reduce annual CO2 emissions by 500,000 tons, using available electricity from wind and hydroelectric sources in Norrbotten. The project has strong backing from Grupo Fertiberia, specialized in electrolysis and green ammonia production, and is financially supported by project partners Nordion Energi and Lantmän
