Projektsammanfattning:
This project enhances battery-storage participation in the Nordic electricity market to support a sustainable low-carbon future. It addresses key challenges facing battery-storage operators, including market design limitations, lack of tailored financial instruments, and inefficient coordination of energy and reserve services. The research focuses on three objectives: (1) designing battery-storage order structures that reflect operational constraints within the Single Day-Ahead Coupling (SDAC) market, (2) developing risk-management hedge contracts suited for low-volatility markets, and (3) enabling co-optimization of energy and reserve capacity using advanced AI-assisted algorithms. Collaborating with Fortum, Nord Pool, and PLEXOS, the project combines academic research with real-world applications to unlock the full economic and system value of battery storage.
