Projektsammanfattning:
Winter ice formation on hydropower gates limits grid flexibility and forces fossil-based imports during peak demand. Linnovation will develop and validate with a client a modular, SCADA-integrated anti-icing system enabling reliable winter operation under sub-zero conditions. Using ultra-thin heating panels with embedded copper mesh for real-time sensing and adaptive control, the system replaces outdated, manual, and energy-intensive de-icing methods. The 24-month project will advance the system from TRL 5 to TRL 7 through full-scale testing at a customer station. Outputs include a validated TRL 7 prototype, SCADA-ready control system, installation and manufacturing toolkits, compliance-oriented technical documentation, and a commercialization strategy targeting Swedish hydropower operators and EPC partners. The structured Work Plan spans seven work packages, covering design, control development, field validation, business development, and project management.
